"The life of Iku Aikaze, a small girl who wishes for nothing more than to regain her memories and emotions after a long winded accident involving her parents deaths, and her own seclusion from her family principles. As if that weren't enough, it seems as though there is someone running things from behind the scenes..."

Updates 03.14.2007 ----
Hello, we need your help again! Crystal and myself have been working tediously on the manga's production, however we still need help from you! We've created more characters for more emotions, however we need you to supply names and elements for these characters (descriptions voluntary but not manditory).
Elements:
Water
Air
Earth
Fire
Dark
Light

Note: Please do not choose Light unless the character is actually fitting. Do not overpower the characters. This is just the beginning list of elements. You may create sub-elements.
Character Traits/Elements: Please choose names according to gender and trait/emotion. Do not choose all Japanese names as we have a billion of these already. Be creative.

Randomized Aikaze Trivia
The name Aikaze is currently in it's Japanese form, because Iku, the title character, is pure Japanese. The true English name of the manga if it were removed of all Japanese titles would be "Go Love Wind". Iku meaning Go, Ai meaning Love and Kaze meaning Wind. There was not a dominant Aikaze family in Japan's Tokugawa period. Because of this, Iku's history is mostly fiction with few historical and accurate facts relating to the time period which she was alive.
The character "Ai", the representative emotion of love, was purposely named after the Japanese word for Love.
The character "Caspia", the representative trait of Imagination, is believed to have gotten her name from the constellation "Cassiopeia", which the Greek's believed was a representation of a vain queen. The character Caspia acts very distinguished and has adequate manners, suggesting that Caspia is simply a nickname.
Although I don't really see the point in watching myself.
If this ever gets published, you get paid, like duh. It might not get published though but hey ya never know~ I actually have several connections through publishing companies via my aunt (the one that died =/ She was an English teacher so she had all that information). Soooo I could probably look into it for the manga and for your CoC story after they both take off :3
I've got some doodles made of the characters and I've been watching/going by SEVERAL, multiple hand and figure drawing tutorials. I hope to scan a temporary doodle of caspia or Iku and try out a coloring/inking style through photoshop and see how that works, cause believe me, I SUCK at screen tones.
Mmm, hands. And I haven't tried screenprinting. I have a few tutorials how to do it digitally with PS. >.> Hell, maybe I could give it a shot somewhere down the line.
I should scan in this tutorial. It's from the book Mangaka America. It has a lot of cool goodies and tutorials in it. :3 And yes, trad inking looks much better than tablet and Manga Studio.
Yessssh. Umumumumum. >.> What pens do you use? Because I'm pretty sure, if this is gonna be a shoujo, that you'll need a really thin quill pen and a bottle of India ink. :3 That's the way real manga artists work.
I have those but I absolutely suck at using india ink because I use normal typing/printing paper instead of the thick paper made for inking. I was thinking of outlining the shadows with the pen on the actual paper then coloring it in with black/gray on photoshop. I have Caspia and Meron completed, I'll make an inking test on Meron (with the way I drew Caspia, I can't tell her shadows apart very well, plus she's semi-casting a spell so it would be more difficult, SO I plan on using the digital inking test on her).
Usually I use micron pens when I can get my hands on them, or just regular ball-points, but they have to be VERY thin tips and gel rollers or else I won't use them.
I plan on going to Charleston (it's about 120m from here and the capital city) near the end of the month and since they have a Michael's there, I'll be getting some art supplies so I'll get another bottle of ink, the right kind of paper and a thin quill, or I can just use the micron pens for outlines or get a small tipped calligraphy pen depending on the price of the ink/paper (we recently got another insurance settlement, but I'm not entitled to a lot of it because the items belonged to my Grandfather and I'm getting my computer upgraded with a new ram card and and and and (haha~ now you see why I went out of writing) a new working CD rom drive). Plus the book I have also has a guide to traditional inking, plus a really AWESOME tutorial on planes (not the ones that fly in the sky ) and that.. thing where you make a dot in the middle of the paper, then draw lines out from it. Lol I can't remember what it's called. I'll be looking for another, more detailed type of book because this one mostly focuses on computer CG, but does not give step-by-step tutorials on how to do it. They do have a really great tutorial on detailing hair with inking and creating dynamic backgrounds, along with expressions. Their tutorial for figure drawing is lacking a little, since they say "draw a stick figure and go from there" but there's a lot of principles that go along with that, like the fingers have to be a certain length and end at a certain point, etc. The book I have doesn't detail that, and it also gives NO DETAILS WHATSOEVER on clothing folds.
I feel a disturbance in my wallet.
Also I'm calling today so BE READY TO HEAR MY HORRIBLE SOUTHERN ACCENT
Well, I use India ink on normal compy paper...I find that it's easier to erase pencil marks rather than using heavier paper. It took me a while to get used to how it bleeds, but since I have rather a light hand with drawing mediums, I found light pressure and little lines don't bleed as if you're using a thicker nib. o.O I have no idea how micron pens work, but I've always been shunned away from them. My teachers not only hate anime, they hate ball-points. I steal all of my supplies from my school. I'm a terrible person. >.>
ONOZ terrible accent! :0 Not that my fast talk and constant slang and mis-saying words is any better.
It's like a marker tip but it doesn't bleed into the other grains/textures in the paper.
YAY I'm gonna scan my adult meron, caspia, and some other art I owe people.. X__x;; Also I didn't get to finish the cover draft because of Luke wanting to draw spongebob characters >>;; *smacks head on desk* This is not worth 20$! I swear it! DX
